Order your own beautiful solid dyed woven wrap! The process of hand dyeing wraps is an art form and each project is one of a kind. We are proud to offer custom dye slots by Vanessa of
Luminescence, who
will create a unique and masterfully dyed woven wrap with the color of your choosing.
We only use Dharma Fiber Reactive Procion Dye on our wraps. During the dyeing process, this dye bonds with the fabric on a molecular level and it becomes part of the fabric. Because of this, it is safe to use on baby items and will not fade, even with repeated washing.
Hand dyeing is not an exact science and as such, there may be variations in the results. Also, due to the electronic limitations of computer monitors, the colors you see on your screen may be different from the actual results. At this time we work with cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo and silk fabrics only and are not currently doing acid dye jobs.
Please select your color from the color chart in this listing and include the color name and number when placing your order. If you need help deciding on a color, Vanessa will consult with you via email about your options and make a color recommendation to you but the final color selection is still yours.
Basic Color Matching Service $35
It is important to note that each wrap may take dye slightly differently depending on the fiber content, color of the fibers before dyeing and even how the fibers were processed during manufacturing. If you desire a close color match to an existing item, the purchase of our Basic Color Matching Service is highly recommended. With this option you are welcome to send Vanessa an item and she will compare it to the color chart, consult with you about your options and also include free test swatches on your wrap of up to 2 colors of your choosing if you desire. While we cannot guaranty an exact color match, Vanessa will work with you to come as close as possible to your item. Please know that anything you send will be lovingly cared for and returned with your wrap.
Color Removal Service $30 (NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME)
For wraps that need a fresh start, we are now offering Color Removal Service. The results of color stripping will largely depend on what the existing dyed color is. It is important to note that different colors will discharge at different rates but should leave your wrap suitable for over-dyeing most colors. Please note, turquoise may lighten but it will never completely discharge and most other colors will discharge to a yellow, beige or tan shade.
In addition to stripping previously dyed fabrics, it is also possible for Vanessa to lighten the color of colorgrown cotton. If we are stripping a colorgrown wrap, your wrap will be treated with a gentle lightening process using oxygen to lighten the color that will not harm the fiber. If you are sending a colorgrown wrap for Color Removal Service, please note this with your order.
Swatching Service (starting at $15)
If you would like swatches done, please purchase the Swatch Service add-on with your dye slot. With the purchase of this add-on, Vanessa will remove 1”-2” at the tail end of your wrap and professionally re-hem it to match the manufacturers hem on the other end and then swatches will be done with up to 2 colors of your choosing. (additional color swatches are available for $5 each) Photos of the swatches will be emailed for your approval and color selection.
All blank wraps purchased from us for the purpose of dyeing will be shipped directly from Piece of Cloth to Vanessa. Please allow 7-10 business days from when our dye artist receives your wrap for it to be completed and shipped home to you. Please note that dye orders are final sale. Insurance is optional and may be purchased during check out.
You must select your color from the color chart in this listing and include the color name and number when placing your order. After purchase, you are welcomed to consult with Vanessa if you need help finalizing the selection you made.
Please note that to keep on schedule and ensure that all orders are processed in time, we'll need to have your final colors within two days and the wrap sent to Vanessa within four days. We are happy to help you select, but will need to cancel the order unfortunately if not received in time. Thanks for understanding!
